Yea...well it works for me... Open the Counter stirke 1.6 then go to options.Then video.Than in the render drop down menu chose software.Than click ok. It works great...much much lower ping... from 100 to 40..also I barely feel any lag.

1st of all, its not lag that you solved 2nd of all, lots of people know about this finally..you mean FPS not ping ping is the response time between you and the server. software mode is only for people with low end video cards OpenGL and D3D work fine for people who have a decent or good video card. so using software mode would be best for people with crappy computers otherwise using OpenGL or D3D for other people works fine turning off Vsync does help alot, i get 99fps. sry, not trying to be mean, just thought this was kind of pointless :blink:
Yes but ALOT and oh yes i do mean alot of people call it ping but really mean FPS... I've been helping people with gaming situations for a while now and work for a Gaming company now that does servers and specializes in gaming. So I've heared it called that many times. and That is always the first recommendation wether they say its lag or fps or ping always do that first! I know you wasn't trying to be mean, Nor am I right now. But no it was not pointless and secondly After he done that i have a list of other stuff PING related he could have tried next.
to turn off Vsycn: right click on your desktop, go to properties, settings, click advanced. You should see a tab for your video card, click it and go to performance and quality settings. Click Vsync and turn it off.
