So, my dad stopped using his webcam because he got a Mac, and it had one included, and I got the one he had.

I didn't found the software CD that came with it, but I downloaded one from the internet.

    The camera is a Logitech.
The camera is detected by Windows, because it shows the little message at the taskbar, saying the camera is connected. But the software doesn't. It says it's not connected, or it isn't working correctly.

    Any ideas?

reinstall the driver, also try a different USB port, its not un-common to have bad/underpreforming USB ports.
