Say why which one is better cause I'm planning on getting one of them but... which is better? I've played the LoTRO beta, so I'm leaning closer to that than WoW. and plz don't tell me to go download a free mmorpg like silkroad, rappelz or maplestory or play something else cuz i've had enuff of those games. I'm gonna try something new.
Honestly, I played WOW for a week and it was kinda boring to me : / for that reason I say go with LotR. Also like they said above, if you want to have a life don't get wow.
Ive played LOTRO and tbh, i was really hyped about it... And then got really disappointed. Though id say NO NO NO to WoW being as i hate it with a vengeance Id say maybe look a little further as i got bored of LOTRO fairly quickly.
I played LOTRO beta and it was pretty much trying to be like wow but failed with a passion. I would go with WoW but play it casually .
WoW, anyone claiming you have to sell your soul is an idiot here. If you wanna be in an end game raid guild, start leveling now, as youll have a good shot of getting in on the basics of the level 80 raids when WotLK is released, but otherwise, yeah, by now you'd have to sell your soul in order to hit level 70 and be geared for Hyjal / Black Temple. In either case WoW showcases alot more lore, and a long line of great games, as well as the company is extremely stable and has a great track record. There are WAY more people playing WoW, imo its easier to succeed in once you get the hang of it (and its learning curve isn't that bad). Then again, even with a g/f, life, job, etc. I still live by the concept if I am paying $15/mo to play it, damn it I better be playing it when I can to make up for the money I am spending. If thats you, and your super casual, I would recommend getting Guild Wars over either of them.
World of Warcraft is good dont quit before lvl 10 it gets better the first levels are just a little boring i advise agaisnt making a rogue theres already a bit to many
WoW is a life drainer, I speak from experience here. I was in a high end raid guild (This was before burning crusade) Completed BWL, MC, AQ40 + 5 Bosses in Naxx. Then I thought to myself "I've given up alot for this, what was the point?" I still had a job, I still worked, but WoW just didn't seem worth the time anymore. You get to a point when you think "Was all that time and money I spent on my character really worth it?" And of course, the answer is no. Imo, stay away from WoW, you will get addicted, and then you will wish you'd never started playing.
