what if you bought credits? wouldn't the credits to dollar ratio change all the time?

Isn't posting the only way to add a credit to the GR economy? Taking that out would take out an important aspect. (unless admins can add credits in the admin CP)

Yes, it is the only way to add a credit into the GR economy, other than site competitions. (However, the staff have mentioned that site competitions will no longer consist of credits for prizes, and will be leaning more towards memberships for the prizes.)
The whole point about removing the credits from GR is to stop credits from being added to the economy, because inflation is playing a big role in the depreciation of the value of the credit.

I see, and how does one who has no resources to sell gain credits? Must they rely on the contests that do reward credits?

in the short run, disabling creds is good, but in the long run the creds come back maybe doubled the amount..

charge all members who create topics or posts in the Market Place only.

i agree with EBK charge members selling things in Auctions.

it would only raise the price of the things being sold at auctions but you could get heaps of credits out of the system.

also taxing credit transfers would be a brilliant idea. tax them a fixed amount so no-one can complain about not knowing as well.

also turning the credits off for a month or two could also do credits alot of good anyway.

Charge for render requests, just a mini suggestion

Edit: Maybe also an upload fee for the download system.

I think we should double the credits per post.

that way new people can afford to buy things.

    problem with inflation solved.

now that would obviously piss off old timers, my response - be more active and contribute to the community, be involved.

of course my idea would never pass since it makes too much sense.

FYI most people who hord creds don't get them by posting, so turning off creds would only hurt the new people.

that doesnt solve the problem that makes it worse.

we are trying to get them out of the system and make credits worth more.

    no cheap worthless things.

it will make auction prices double.

it would cause heaps of problem with paid tuts and the download system.

it would double my creds..lol --srry i had to throw that in.

i'll sell my stuff and the creds i make we can take them out. sounds fair?

    Restate some points:
Charge everyone in the Market Place for creating a topic.
Charge set price for making a request for Renders.
Disable creds for a good month or two?

accept it for what it is and increase the creds per post so the newbs can benefit...
creds will in a system like this stick to a given value no matter what the circulation.
if you want to know why then you fail to realize that people consider this to be e money and as emoney it's largely worthless. You can inflate it to hell and prices still won't change, heck look at real economies which are drastically more sensitive, prices often fail to keep up with inflation, same goes for wages.

unfortunately even though creds are "worth" half as much, the "wages" haven't gone up at all. EVER.

depends on what you consider the problem to be. the problem in my fview is that new members are at a disadvantage

FYI doubling the credits per post probably wouldn't cause prices to go up for around a year or so. Again most people with creds don't get them by posting, they get them by selling things. As we've seen in the past, the value of the cred seems to have relatively little to do with the amount in circulation...

agree with everything there except you selling things and taking the creds out of the system its not really fair.

regardless i agree with his suggestion and the other one about taxing credit transactions.

    <100 = 10 creds per transaction
    <1000 = 100 creds per transaction
    <10 000 = 1000 creds per transaction

it would be a great way of taking the credits out.
