Credits have lost so much value. I think it's time you turned credits for posting off again.

Does that really matter? most (notice to those that are reading I said MOST) members that do the marketplace stuff and gain credits. Dont post a lot in sections that give them credits. Someone not gonna make like 1k in post and 1k in credits just by posting in the render section in a month's time. It will take a longer time getting 1k in credits by posting then it would by selling stuff

It depends on how much they post. I managed to get about 4k+ of credits from posting in a year's time.

Yea, but think about people that doesn't make signature, large pieces, templates, etc..then they will never earn any credits.
Now they get some for posting around here, and if they disable them fully, they will stay at 0 and will be at 0.
Think about people that are requesting to render something for them, if they are new, they need to sell something first before they can request to get they render rendered. Now they can post and they have few credits to pay for the job.
Imo they need to leave it as it is.

If anything they need to stop giving away credits for the site contests, that is if they are creating these credits. If someone is sending them from their account that's fine but mass creation of credits should stop.
Posting for credits is different, you probably will never reach an insane amount of credits purely on posting, but if you are new and need something then you could probably post for the credits that you need.

In a matter of 4-6 months weve brought in over 1 million credits to the system. In the matter of time since credit really starting losing value, weve brought in about 2.5 million credits. The thing is, people at GR are literally too stupid to think that less credits in the system = each credit becomes worth more. We removed over 1 million credits, adn the prices didn't drop, and credits were still selling at ridiculous rates. If you have any means of solving the general level of attention here at GR to make it so lower credits = higher value of credits, please, give us a recommendation, because none of the staff can figure out what to do.

start taxing people for the amount of credits they have. That way credits are being taken out and balanced. Anyone with under 500 wouldn't be taxed. The more you have the higher you're taxed. Just set it up so it collects weekly or something. That way people are more encouraged to spend their credits so they do not go to waste. It might bring up the activity of the marketplace too.

maybe even all the taxed credits would go to an account that is run by the staff used to buy resources for the public.

that seems like a good idea but almost a penalty for having a lot of creds, imo, charge tax on every transfer of creds, like it its under 50 don't bother, but above, make like %3 so every 1000 creds transfered 30 are taken out

Isn't there another thread that brings up the exact same issue as the one stated in this topic?
Many solutions have already been brought forward, one of them being to start charging to open up shops, creating topics in Offers/Requests, etc and another one being to charge a "tax" or a small fee for every credit transaction that takes place on Gamerenders.
I feel both of these ideas are much better, rather than charging people who keep their credits lying around and to remove posting for credits.

no, that would discourage people from making transactions. and I don't see why posting for credits is necessary in the first place to be honest.

So, by removing posting for credits, you are discouraging people to post. What's your point? lol. Your idea would decrease activity in this forum, we wouldn't want that. Charging for transactions is not a bad idea at all, it's like tax in real life. It could either be a fixed amount of credits, or a percentage of the credits being sent.
In addition, as stated in the post quoted below, new members would not be able to afford for items they would like to purchase:

New members seemed to manage during the time when credits were off before, I think they'd manage now. And it's not discouraging people to post, there are many successful forums that don't have credits for posting. And besides, if someone is posting just to make a credit, it is more than likely spam.

I think posting for credits really affects the amount of activity in this forum. I know many members that just post to get the credits to be honest, not for spamming.
I really feel that it's all up to the members who have a large amount of credits to stop the inflation. The reason for the depreciation of the credit value is because the members who own a large amount of credits disregard the value of the GR credit.
If all the members who had over 4000 credits agreed to only sell their credits at a 250:1 ratio, we would not have this problem. However, many members don't get along, and they all try to attempt to "beat" other credit sellers. In the end, the only person who benefits is the person who is purchasing the credits. I guess none of them realize they are only harming themselves.

I don't see a problem in charging a tax for each transaction as well as removing posting for credits. (Or, instead of removing posting for credits completely, we can make it so that there is only posting for credits on specific days of the week. Example: Posting for credits takes place on weekends.)
