Cd Drive Doesnt Appear In Explorer ?

    well I turned on my Laptop and booted up and everything and went I went to pop in a cd I waited for it to auto run shortly later (like 5 mins) nothing happened so I went to explorer and :unsure: the Cd Drive Wasnt there I was in shock like where did it go .... so I checked and said maybe its hiddenr or something but nothing so then I went to the device manager and no cd/dvd drivers where listed. SO now Im stuck and Im wondering if anyone could help a noob out ;(

    shut down

    reinsert your cd drive

    start the computer up, is it there?

    Ive seen this problem multiple times, it has several causes the most comon being that the drives "driver" is corrupted this can be fixed by simply deleting the registry entry that binds it..
    This can be done by:
    1, Press Start > Run, type "regedit"
    2,Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    3, Delete the entree called LowerFilters
