if you want to be in denial that photographers dont edit their shots.
You've still some way to go.
Look aroud you, go to the nearest print shop, or whate'ver its called.
And go see a ---fessinal photographer.
What do they do ? Yes they edit their shots.

Can i remind you that a lot of photographers use colored lenses.
or contrast lenses.
And if i may be so kind, i will tell you, that CONTRAST IN PHOTOSHOP, OR PHOTO FILTERS ARE EXACTLY MADE FOR PEOPLE WHO DONT HAVE THOSE LENSES.
