    Hey,

i am about to purchase a 22" monitor and need some help.. the one i have chossen is the Samsung 226BW..however i emailed the store i intend to be purchasing it from and asked them what panels are in their 226BW's... they said 'C'.. now i know this is the lame one but will it REALLY make much difference?? i want the quality to be superb as i will be playing games and photo editing on it ... will the fact that its not an 'S' panel make much difference?

thanks heaps for any help :)

P.S. if u have any other suggestions as to what 22" monitor i can get for the same price with a superior quality please tell :)

I'd suggest the Dell version, but the samsung is good, too..

I have a ViewSonic 22 inch wide screen. It seems to work o.k. Well, it's my first LCD so i'm not sure what quality they are. It's a little hard to get used to. Especially for gaming, since I was using a 15 inch CRT for years. The only reason I bought it was the price. I think it was $200.00 with a rebate at the time I bought this newer PC. Rewiews are good for it on Newegg. But it's hard to tell who wrote them :)

well i hav the 226bw and didn know about the s, a , c panel thing until just a few weeks ago..i got the c...-_-

well the only thing is the colors r spose 2 be worse then a and s and theres backlight bleeding with the c panel...but i found a guide to calibrate and configure the colors and it still looks pretty damn amazing..the backlight bleeding does suck though but u only notice is wen its rly dark so..otherwise still a good monitor

The S panel is made by samsung. - The best
The A panel is made by a random company - Second best but has too much blue
The C panel is made by Chemei - The 'worst', only has a bit of backlight bleeding.

Call around and ask stores if they have an S panel. If they don't just grab a cheaper one as most 22" monitors (except for the Samsung S and the Dell 22") use the Chemei panel. I just got a Benq FP222W and it looks great. Any brand will do as they are the same Acer, Benq, Chemei, Viewsonic, Proview, etc.

Grab a 22" they look great and are cheap, only a few dollars more than a 20" and ALOT cheaper than a 24". You will be happy.

i have had a look at soo many other brands and nothing i like more than the 226bw.. i think if the quality is still good on the samsung i will just go for it.. as Defuzion said most 22" monitors use the c panel anyway so either way its going to be abot the same

yep they look the same, so just grab the cheapast. If you're going by appearance of the actual screen, the benq looks good, so does the viewsonic and ASUS. IMO ASUS looks better than the Samsung.

My dad has a 22 inch viewsonic and my brother a 19 inch viewsonic, I had a dell monitor. The Viewsonics definately look sharper when comparing.
