Alright so I just wanted to know, is it good and if it'll run games well.

I mean it does crash every second, or any crap like that. I have a problem as to were I have to activate my Windows XP and 3 days, so... I have to do something, now with this, I just install. No key, or activation(I know about illegal posting, just letting you know)

    Running 8800. (Updated and everything)
    P4 3.00GHz(Ewww)
    2GB of RAM.
    600 PSU.

Now when I do install Vista, will it directly install Dx10? Or will it install but I can still play GMod and Battlefield 2142, and other games?

I see no one can answer this, or are too lazy to lol?

i you have a nVidia based card I'd jsut stick with XP for a while

same with when XP came out, you had people sticking with 98.

the drivers just aren't mature enough yet.

and for the record in most cases the perforomance hit is between 10-50%(in games) though since you have a relatively slow CPu it could be less.

and DX10 is integrated into vista, Dx9 is till there though.

    Thanks for the information man.

I think I'll stick with XP, and try to get this activation worked out with.

    I would just take Vista.
Vista is good I like it, added security, responds faster, and fps loss in Vista under Nvidia cards in minimal as the drivers get better.
And with SP1 for Vista coming soon, its going to get a whole lot better.

probably the best advice in the thread.

I'll be blunt I LIKE VISTA

i just don 't like nVidia's driver support.

see fi the platform works for you, if it doesn't, nothing lost.

Just stick with XP, do the manual hacks to DirectX 10, all Vista will do is slow it right the f*ck down. Trust me. Don't do the update to Vista.

It's not slow. And you dont need to "hack" anything. Vista is actually faster if you have the right ammount of ram.
