Yes, because the key to winning any debate is to insult the other person until they give up/in. (I fail to see how 'name one place outside of a history book...' is being a smart-ass)
Lol how does some new gen material break out into a whole views on war discussion lol. Wayy off topic. Ontopic: The stuff looks very cool. The giant blob one was pretty cool.
ferret did. hes good at debates. I would be interested in seeing if this material would be versatile enough to provide lightweight battle suits in any practical way...
It would probably work but the soldiers would get extremely hot and eventually dehydrate and die. If you read further you would see that someone made a pair of boots with aerogel insoles to climb mount everest, and complained that they were way too hot. If there was some way to cool down the soldier, I am sure it would work.
Im fairly sure there are ways of insulating suits to greatly increase cooling, the workers in the industries around my town wear special clothing for this purpose, im not sure on the specifics though. My first thought would be some water cooling system to keep the body cool beneath the armour, again im not sure as to how this could be achieved or such... But i definately think it should be looked into, armour like that would be an invaluable resource to the fighting men and women of the world. (as well as omg cool idea )
that would pretty much stop any war. People of both sides would have aerogel and bullets/rockets would do nothing but destroy the land around them. We would have to learn how to get along. Such a pity
