Dell = overpriced. If you live in the United States order from NewEgg and build your own computer for half the cost. If you live anywhere near jersey hit me up and I'll build it for you.
i could build two systems of comparable(if nto greater) performance for the same price. with top of the line everything, including a watercooling system which vents the heat generated by it's components OUT of the case instead of inside it.
he's in the US if you chek his location. which means newegg is cheapest around 70% of the time and within a few percent 80-90% of the time. usual sites I look at are newegg zipzoomfly ewiz tigerdirect and some others which escape me at the oment and are largely specialty sites... on another note, some people like OEMs, knowing that everything will(in theory) work and that they can have a standardized amss produced and hastily slapped together product. I'll be blunt If I didn't follow the tech scene so much i'd likely be happier with my A64 3000+ system than with my c2d system. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. In the end it's his money. If you look at GR most of the peopel building their systems are in the 14-20range and are willing to mess aroudn to save a buck. Not everyone falls under that category. Take dementia for example, he insisted on an OEM and he's a fairly copetant guy. Didn't work out well for him but still. To each their own.
lets be honest if u are rich enough to afford somthing like that do u REALLY think their going to care if they lose a couple of hundred? that computers AWESOME! but if ur going to be spending that much wait until the new line of dx10.1 cards come out..
some aren't as rich as they are foolish, if you note he said "as soon as he had money" for things like this, I'd say if you don't have 10 times that money in the bank or otherwise available to you, you shouldn't be spending money as such. FYI DX10.1 cards won't be out for a while, I have inside sources from a certain person with a sample of G90 and he's said that it lacks DX10.1 support and OpenGl3 support. on another note, it SHOULD in a fair number of cases outperform SLI-ed 8800ultras in-game, though not in 3dmark. again not everyone is like me though. I end up getting a new system every 6-18months and probably spend around half as much money for performance within the same league at any given moment(though i'm never really outdated in any regard) some people just like being able to brag about wasting the down payment on a condo so let the guy with 3 posts come in and brag. His system will be faster than pretty much anyone's here until Q1 08.
