Name 1 war that isn't truly started with an underlying of religion or personal beliefs, which are generally caused by religion (which is defined as a belief amongst the masses). I am not ----war, but im not ignorant to the fact that regardless of how extreme someone is, most, if not all wars are started via a religious debacle, or a personal belief brought on from some twisted form of religion. Things get solved by war, and problems are created by war, such is everything, and if its not actual 'war' its flexing eachothers e-peen until someone surrenders (see: cold war). Actions speak louder than words, and without war, America wouldn't be the nation it is today, nor would any other part of the world.
I'd probably have to say WWI and WWII (as far as hainvg religious beleifs be the initiator of the war) and I think by definition every war is started due to the personal beliefs of a group or an individual... now fo course there was religious influence within them, but nomoreso than in any other human enviroment. EDIT - after doing a bit of research most genocides a majority of "tribal wars" in small isolated areas where resources are limited(seen as an evolutionary mechanism for trimming populations, it's speculated that there is a spill over effect as well)
theres all sort of stuff that has been around for years before the public knew about. take for exampl,e the phone.
Since when did 'religious' become synonymous with 'Christian?' (the 'thou shalt not kill, love thy neighbor as yourself' business -- Christian commandments). However, you're ignoring the Old Testament's commands of knocking down entire cities because they were an abomination to God. Plenty of violence in the Bible. Most people of any religion are perfectly fine with a justified war. By 'justified,' I don't mean 'that guy believes differently than I do -- kill him,' however.
Where is the underlying religous reasons for the war in IRAQ? If you say muslim I will ------ing kick your white ass.
well, one could easily say the actions taken by more radical people in the name of the Islamic religion are one root of such a conflict. I think the current situation is driven more by political means however, certain people desire power and if they can use a set of religious beliefs to drive people to their cause, then all the better(to them atleast).
Since when did "Thou Shall not Kill" and "Love thy neighbor" become Christian? If I am not mistaken, they were in the Egyptians Book of the Dead way before they were written by Moses.
That's great. Name one place where you see 'Thou Shalt Not Kill' and 'Love Thy Neighbor as Yourself' next to 'the ancient Egyptians' outside of a history book. However, 'don't kill anybody unless they're trying to kill you' and 'be nice to those around you' have been part of just about everybody's culture. Context is key here.
The point I was making, was that making something based upon religion is idiotic when everyone shares the same versions of the moral codes. Thanks for being a smart ass though.
