I'm gonna go ahead and say either Pendulum or Celldweller, either one have yet to be released but I am confident that they will deliver.

    !

MTM is ----. (this is coming from a Linkin Park fan btw, love the rest of the albums, MTM just stinks, hard.)

    So far this year?

    Either:

    Paramore - RIOT!
    or
    Yellowcard - Paper Walls

What the hell? How can you guys say the best album released this year when the year is just a TINY bit passed half way through? It's impossible to say your opinion of the entire YEAR when the year isn't even over with. <_<

I'm not pointing it at you. I know you said "So far". You know it too, should be nothing to worry about, I can read. Just basically the original poster of this thread.

Yellowcard's album was lame, BTW.

Paramore has fans that reminds me of Tool fans: They overrate the band too much.

Hmmm...I'm going to go through my albums and compare since I'm bored...

Nine Inch Nail's Year Zero had the beginning of the year covered for me, though there's a crapload I need to listen to then.

Common's latest album is damn good, the same for Fabolous' latest album.

Queens of the Stone Age's Era Vulgaris is somewhat of a decline from their previous albums, yet I feel that it surpasses a lot of the mainstream rock music that came out this year.

They Might Be Giants' new album is also absolutely fabulous.

Arcade Fire's Neon Bible is cool too, not the best, I don't think, but good.

The White Stripe's Icky Thump has ups and downs, but most of the time it's up with catchy rhythms and great tunes. :)

What I'm really waiting for, is The Hives' new album, which looks to be incredibly fantastic and judging by the song "Tick Tick Boom", definitely has the energy, uniqueness, and pure glory to hit album of the year. I still need to listen to a lot of albums, though, and there's some underground, and a few mainstream, I'm dying to hear already.

There was also a lot of crappy albums and disappointments.

Linkin Park's Minutes to Midnight was crap and a half, then again so was their first two albums and all of it being overrated.

Chris Cornell's Carry On was such a HUGE disappointment from Euphoria Morning, despite having a few decent songs.

Fall Out Boy's Infinity on High was also absolute crap and a half.

I'm still going around left and right listening to so many albums. I didn't mention A LOT of albums, but then again those were probably simply good, not great, like Velvet Revolver's Libertad.

That's probably the most detail you'll get from me until the year ends. <_<
