Seems relatively cheap...I checked on Sigma-Aldrich and you can get some decently purified silica gel by the kilogram for around $120...and I bet the yield of unit volume of aerogel per unit volume of silica is enormous because of the addition of gas.
Go back to being a hippy. Wars are what solve most issues (and also, create them) and it is human nature to fight for superiority over another nation, or the amount of 'peenage' it gives. If your anti-war, I take it your anti-religion, because religion is the root of most wars and personal beliefs brought into wars in the world.
