Okay so im 16, and im quitting football to take up some marital arts. What do you guys think is the best? Im either going to do tai quan do (spelling?) or judo. Tell em what you guy sdo, or what youd like to do.
Its Tae kwon do, and it involves mostly Kicking type of martial arts, if you like kicking people, do it. Judo feels more like brute strength wrestling type of martial arts.
I did Tae Kwon Do for 4 years and was a 1st dan. black belt. I enjoyed it. What are you planning to do with this training, move onto MMA or something like that? If you were I'd suggest Brazilian Jujitzu or Muai Thai.
Exactly, JujitSu or MuaY Thai. Best, cuz then you can get into the UFC if you're good. Thats my dream to be a UFC fighter.
I've been doing Tae-Kwon-Doe since I was young. I'm studying right-now so I'm not obligated to be a Sensei. I'm training and will improve. Yeah, well I'm training right-now. And I'd suggest doing Muay Thai aswell. Best self-defense combo. -Irtiza
kool, i thought of doing muai thai. And UFC fighting would be a blast, I don't know where to get training around here though. EDIT: Brazilian Jujitzu <-- never heard of it.
I am a second degree black belt in Taekwondo and Hapkido, plus I have somewhat daffled in Brazilian Jujitsu and such. Of the two, I would go with Judo, just because I think it is actually more practical in terms of use - but just IMO. As for the styles Id wanna study, preferably Muy Thai or Brazilian Jujitsu.
Personally, I suggest Muay Thai and Brazilian Ju Jitsu. Out of the first two options, I suggest taking a bit of each. The more styles you know, and the more you know how to combine each style...the better it is. ^_^
