I think you people need to get some originality, seriously. I've used the font Alien League once or twice, but if you look throiugh the SOTW entrees, woah. About one out of every three signature is used with this font. Yeah, its a great font, but come on! I mean ya'll need to get out into the fon'ts world. There are about fifty thousand fonts out there, and about one third of the members here whore one. There are more than 5 thousand members I think..somewhat, but its a big community. I think ya'll should just find a new font, i'm nmot saying you can't EVER use that one again, i'm just saying if you're playing on excelling in graphics don't stick to that one font. I'm done, but I just wanetd to express this. I'm sure designers such as Blacklabelwood, Maynards Tool, CWD, BonaFide, Irrelevant, all the good designers will agree. They didn't make it where they are winning SOTW's easily with one font. I'm sure you've seen some people, well the one's I notice as I'm browsing are FeaR and Apple, use the same font on all of their sigs. This needs to stop, be creative. Just like using a bg I make for every sig, and just colour it. Ya'll need to experiment, if it sucks, you've learned something. If its good, you've developed something. Just do it. Sorry if I have offended FeaR or Apple, but I was just browsing and I saw these two distinctively.
i agree dangit. Im one to talk because its happpening all over. just go out and explore the font world. get some originality. you find that having a different style is a good thing and some times bring singled out isnt bad. Im srry man if everyone wants your font i see this everywere same thing with renders. Explore Explore Explore...
LoL seems like everything is whored nowadays... Cougar42's and Wildw0lf's brushes... Various fonts... Certain renders... // Btw...just to dodge the hypocrisy thing, this is my first piece, ever, that I used Alien League in.
Nice, in the the same topic you're complaining about that font being overused you give a link to it. I mean, now maybe even a person or two more will get that font. Anyways, I agree about the font whoring, but it's a rather tiresome search to find a new good un-whored font.
I don't even want that font....seen it way too many times here. I try to keep it fresh with each sig, by changing the font. Some of my sigs have the same font sometimes, but rarely.
naw dude i know ive got an issue with it i hate picking out fonts and i suck at it its all cool though ill work on it
I think Visitor is the most whored font.....I'll use it from time to time, but I've been trying some new pixel fonts too.
