dont get me wrong wow is a really good game,i played it about 3 years ago for ages, but after awhile i was sooo addicted i bearly left the pc alone! it was eating away into my life haha! its a good game for the winter when you cant leave the house much but in the summer its a killer! and expensive!

another big problem is, its sooo competitive, you have to play everyday just to keep up with the other people around you lvling up! i bet thats gone worse since there are alot more people playing.

I hear WoW is meant to be a real grind-fest, levelling your characters up and stuff. That true? And to pay however much per month for that just doesnt seem worth it to me. Plus, I'm a GW lover :P So I'm allowed to say things like that :P

Your not in the best gear you can get if your only on archimonde. R / G / TN ?

Your first character tends to be fun, but 90% of the game is at the max level, so after you have 1 character there, leveling another character to that point is just bleh, boring. The quests don't change, the storyline doesn't change, all it is is a different class with a couple of class quests. Same can be said for any MMORPG (yes, even guild wars). Make a character, your first play through is enjoyable, end game (which GW lacks) is fun (for me I prefer PvP over raiding in WoW, I actually have to think, I could just one of those bobbing ducks and set it on a random spell and do well in a raid), and each character after your first its more of a boring grind to get it to max level to play more competitively with it, again, just like any other MMO.

The biggest grind out there atm is Final Fantasy 11. It takes literally months of 8-12 hour days to get to the max level on just 1 profession your first character (and generally onyl character, seeing as how they charge you for each additional character, but a single character can have multiple jobs / professions).

Wow is a game where the more time you spend, the better you are. Whoever spends the most time with it is the best. That concept in itself is STUPID. It requires a huge amount of time and, although it is fun I'm sure, there's little skill involved.

And this is what really makes me angry with all RPG devs, notice the level upgrade.... I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say you have to buy the expansion in order to be able to get to level upgrade. Sounds like a total rip. Buy the expansion or be left behind.

It varies in all honesty. Yes, the 'general' idea of the more you play, the more you have (item wise) and the 'better' you are (arguable, because at 70 in blues / misc. pvp epics you can easily take down solo full gladiator equipment characters). Though, in the realm of RPGs, there isn't much else to base the items you get.

BC is EXTREMELY casual. Pre-BC, only 46 guilds in the world cleared Naxxaramas. Post -BC, more than a few hundred have cleared ALL the BC content (kara, gruul's, mag's, ssc, the eye, mount hyjal, and black temple, as well as 5-10 rep grinds to revered, and full heroics unlocked / ran).

Though, again, when it boils down to it, what else are you going to reward? Those who spend more time in the game, deserve to get more out of it. The only other things you can do is PvP (which, judging on your battlegroup, can be very easy to do well in, or very difficult) or pay a guild gold (which is very easy to get in game with a few minutes, just run auctioneer, buy low and sell high, my level 27 on a new server for me has over 1,000G in under 3 days of being online worth of /played time) to summon you into a raid instance when an item drops, get you the item, etc.

Most high end guilds offer the summoning portion, due to the fact that they don't need it, and the money required for pots, etc. is HUGE for actively progressing high end guilds.

As for the levels, I would agree, on the concept of one thing, there would HAVE to be something to make your character more powerful. Level 60s killing Kel'Thuzad was one of the most difficult things you could do, level 60s without some additional power could not kill Arthas, the Lich King, without some blessing from the gods or something. Multi-classing is out, because you could only imagine the devastating effects a warlock / priest merge would make, or a druid / fury warrior (dual wielding with plate armor), it would vastly overpower individuals.

    I disagree.

Time can be rewarded in other ways. Getting better LOOKING equipment is how Guild Wars does it. Also getting a title that you can show off for doing stuff. The more time you spend, the shinier armor you can buy and the more titles you have. There's still stuff to look for and do after you get to the top level.

So to say there's nothing else to reward isn't correct. However, GW doesn't exactly fall into the rules of MMORPG's.

I'm talking in terms of set pieces, and T6 helm turn in piece currently drops off Archimonde.

[/b][/quote]and guild wars also is beaten in under 24 hours (yes, its possible, I have level 20 characters without being run in under 24 hours) and its extraordinarily easy to get the best weapons (in terms of stats) because 90% of the time the base weapon is available from a turn in vendor. Guild Wars is intended to be for audienecs with little / no time for the computer. I'd know, my warrior was worth over 21 million plat prior to the release of Nightfall in a crystalline sword, full fissues, full swaps for fissures for axe / sword / whatever specs I don't remember, had every skill in the game, and my monk as well, both put in with well over 1500 hours a piece. There is little to do, because base level 20s, and 100% fully loaded level 20s will do the same instances, there is no PvE to the game, its purely level to 20, get good equipment, and pvp. Thats not even mentioning the entire PvP system is 100% skewed, and extremely unbalanced. I was a hardcore GW and anti-WoW fan, till I played on my friends account, then I was sold, bought WoW the next day, haven't logged onto GW in nearly a year and 2-3 months.

again, realm / guild / toon name ?

And once again, I state, your not in the best gear you can be if your only at Archimonde.

Shattered Hand / Skill Overload / Yes

Armory atm in my Arena gear, but if you check guild website, you'll get the point. And yes, I know that some upgrades drop in Hyjal, but still...
