Ok, I've made something like this in Photoshop: text with a lens flare. The lens flare is on screen and 20% opacity.

What I want to do: Merge everything as one layer while it has a transparent background. You might think "easy just merge it" but when I do the lens flare goes back on normal instead of screen and I have this black stuff around the flare (which goes away when put on screen).

Hope you understand my problem :P

    PS: only helpful answers pls

ctrl+shift+e if I'm not mistaking (merge visible)

Nope, the lens flare turned from screen to normal (black part is visible).

You're saying I need to merge it, but merging changes the layer from screen to normal which makes it ugly, so stop saying I need to merge it lol.

make sure you have the lens flare layer above the text and press ctrl+g to group it. I am not sure if that's what you want but the closest I can think of.

if you hide all the other layers and do a apply image and hide the original ones it should still be translucent

I think what you're saying might be impossible to do...

So, try telling us WHY you need to do this.... and then we can figure out another way to accomplish the end goal.

    Yeah I think so too.

I need a logo with a lens flare as a .PNG image (so it needs to be transparant).
But there's a lens flare included and when I merge layers (need one layer to actually have a transparent image) the lens flare pops to normal instead of staying on screen, which gives me a black background because of the lens flare.

Can't you just use a normal lens flair then set it to overlay?

    Doesn't change anything.
When I merge the layers it will still pop to normal.
Because if it goes from screen to normal, it wouldn't be different with overlay nor any other settings.

Anyway I'm closing this. I guess this is one of those things that just can't be done in Photoshop.
