I use Ad-Aware Professional and Spybot: Search & Destroy, along with StopZilla, i don't have pop-ups, no funky sh.t going on either.. Ad-Aware Pro isn't free, neither is StopZilla, but Spybot is. it stupid that we need to download programs to save our comp from frying itself, due to some sad, ppl who aren't getting laid, playing around with everyone elses computers instead of their own.
