Hey i just wondered if there is a way to name mp3 files with their ID3 tags, like: File name : Slipknot_-Wait_and_bleed__MP3.RUETCETCETC MP3 tag : Artist : Slipknot Title : Wait and Bleed Is there a way so i don't have to do it manually, to rename the file to <Artist> - <Title>? Thanks in advance
What i meant was: Instead of going trough every .mp3 file i have and having to rename it so that i won't have names like 03. Circle and 01._OrigiNal_FiRe_-_AudIosLavE_, i would have a program that'dd do that automatically, correcting the file name according to the ID3 tag it has. Another example is like you listen to 'Nine Inch Nails - Exit' and the real artist for it is NUFAN , and it's the artist in the ID3 tag, last.fm will detect it, but msn and others don't check the tag, only look up the file name. What i mean is: You have your .mp3 file, let's say 04. Audioslave- Be yourself It is tagged <artist> Audioslave <title> Be yourself I wondered if there was any program that would rename the file so it had a correct name, tho the tags are right its just a mess to look up a file with that name. The prog could rename it like File name = <artist> - <title> So that instead of 04. Audioslave- Be yourself you'd get 'Audioslave - Be yourself' For tag editing i use mp3tag, its just it's a pain to rename an enormous amount of .mp3 files :X ty
if you click, then hold shift and click down you can select a big part. that way you can massively change album and/or artist
Can you ? As far as i know, shift selecting is for moving or deleting or smt massive amounts of files.. to rename them, and i dont mean the tags, you need to click once the mp3 file and then a slow click again. But as no1 seems to be following me, i knew this was weird tho, thanks for everything and nvm
Or just use Tagrunner. It writes the lyrics, album covers and the other stuff you mentioned into the mp3 files.
i only know how to do this with Itunes but I believe there should be a file toolbar that you can go through and change it somehow.
i use mediamonkey Very easy and gets the tags off amazon .. however you should crossreference albums becauses if you dont and you put the wrong tags from amazon have to reset the tags .. personal experience lol But its a cool program - You can leave the mp3 files as it is - Just use a tagging program like mediamonkey or the ones mentioned For filenames if you want to do that then i havent found a program to do that .. hm to think of it i think mediamonkey had something like that i just cant remember
i use this for that exact reason, it comes in really handy and is very simple http://www.mp3tag.de/en/
