I'll still say Cable while I haven't used it but as far as I've noticed/felt & seen cable is faster then DSL although I am happy with my DSL cause it's pure kick ass
lol because you sparked a discussion. My connection can do about 1MB (DL) and 600KB (UL) and Im on cable...so yeah its pretty quick...
I have cable 8/768 connection but just waiting for FIOS 15/2 connection and it costs the same as cable
Well I had Adelphia (Time Warner) cable for a couple years. It was kind of unreliable. It went down pretty often. I switched over to Verizon FIOS, it's cheaper, and a bit faster. If you can get FIOS where you live, I suggest that over cable. I don't know anything about DSL, so I won't go there.
Well, I switched from AOL (was using it all my life), to Optimum Online (cable).. And I just feel so relieved. And on their web site it mentions being 5X faster than DSL.
I using cable since I abandoned Dial-Up to move high speed, 5 years ago. Only high speed internet service can offer for my location is Charter Communication Cable Service. That sux... Anyway I getting so-so deal with them. Note: DSL is special digital subscriber net line; it is depending on the distance between company and your house to determine the speed. On the other hand, cable is using digital cable fiber line that doesn't require the distance, but instead, your connection is sharing with your neighbors and community. I strongly recommend the cable internet connection over DSL, cause I only using cable. Hehe... The real story is your money and the quality of the service.
I use DSL, only thing I wish I had cable for is when I'm downloading Anime, but waiting an hr per episode isn't bad. Compared to the time it would take on 56k
