Why Do They Call The 360 Wii & Ps3 Next Gen

why do they call these next gen.

arent they the current generation of gaming?
and the past generation was xbox ps2 and gc
would next gen be like ps4 xbox 720 and some random nintendo name

 

i love how nintendo always comes up with something randome each time they release something

 

probably because these consoles havnt become the norm yet

 

its because theyre the next generation in console gaming technology

thats why theyre nicknamed 'next gen'

 

there gonna be called next gen until they arnt that new anymore..

years into the ps2 people weren't calling that `next gen`, now were they?

 

yup ^ PS sux at names so they call it ps1 ps2 ps3 ps4 xbox and nintendo have creative names Wii,GameCube , Xbox,XBox 360

 

But, referring to the above post, I kinda like that. Playstation is a good name, why not stick with it?

 

Nintendo's wii is the only console that deserves the title "next gen".

if they have a PS8 or PS30 it will be cool, i dont mind the playstation name

 

/Agree... "Next Gen" refers to the newest technology available.

The reason they call all of these new systems by that label is that they all carry some sort of unique and limited technology that you can usually only find with that product.

Wii- Has it's really nifty remote and nunchuck, only found on the Nintendo Wii console.

PS3- Well, it comes with Blueray (SP?)... a cool new format for videos via disc format. Also, the graphics for this system are top of the line.

X-Box 360- Newest versions of this system come with a HD-TV plugin. Can't find this with most things, but HD-TV is not available with any of the older systems.

Just some things to think about. "Next Gen" includes just a tad of the newest technology, which one you do get is up to you.

 

Sony PS4, Xbox Kickflip 900, Nintendo Yuu...

i think this generation will become current gen when everybody gets one. right now lots of people are still on PS2.
