Is there a difference between a NVIDIA GeForce/ATI Radeon 7000 and a VIA/S3G UniChrome --- IGP? I think the first one is better, but tell me how better. Is it like way better or just a little more than the UniChrome thing.
i think nvidia makes better products in general cuz im biased and thats what i have always used. I would suggest sticking with them.
yes of course theres a difference I personaly go with ATI Due to the Prices/free stuff they give away. and performance.. alot of people go with niVida but im an ATI guy to what i just said... its really what ever ur gonna use it for more MB better the card and more $$ there making 1 gig cards now thats probably the best card out but its soo much cash i would go with a 256mb GFX card hope this helps
is there a diference - yes. which is better? no clue both are pretty low end though Merged Post: you realize that the more vram (aka mb) a card has the more likely it is to be either highend or else lowend marketted as highend for midrange prices. example given - GeForce 8800GTS 320mb vs, Geforce 7950GX2 w/ 1GB vRAM the 8800GTS wins most benchmarks.
in a system yes video card memory primarily holds textures though. to put it into terms easily understood a video card is effectively an entire system on a single card. Right now most games use around 100-200mb vRAM. If RAM sin't sued ti doesn't do anything. This si especially true of lowend cards which cannot play at settings which require a lot of vRAM many tests show the 320mb version of the 8800GTS performing within 1% of the 640mb version of the 8800GTS. Now I'm a crazy son of a bitch who likes to mod my games with high res 3rd party textures, but most people aren't.
Ok, so what kind of card you suggest I get? ATi or nVidia? I think I have a very low end computer. 32mb vRAM -.- 256mb RAM
I'd really have no idea. you probably won't be ding a ton of gaming with that system I assume, I'd personally get more system RAM first.
