This is Ikky's Sugg. but i think more stable..

I know there is a way to make your own page, with codding...ect

So i think there should be a "Competitions" Page, and it will show the latest winner of SOTW, ROTW, LAOTM, ...ect, and it will also show the previous winners, it would make the competitions neater and easier to look through, it will most likely have a link to the art that won next to the name, and also another link to the Thread....it would more be like a showcase, not really a posting page...

    Support Please

I'm not sure. It would certainly encompass the whole competition thing and add more reasons to take part, but at the same time a page of winners may not get viewed to much and where are you gonna link it from. There's room for one more feature on the NavBar so Staff may want to keep it open for something more revolutionary...dunno
Plus, it's one thing wanting a code to display the winners, another wanting a code to have a database of all winners that there has ever been, and all that artwork would need stored on the GR database or wtvr (which is already struggling at times) so people don't delete them and "no image available" becomes the main thing.

Personally, I think a simple Announcement in the News section would serve equal purpose and be easier to manage (but would also clutter up what is the last formal section really). Iunno...

I get what you mean, but for the user posted image, they can load it to there own thing where it wont become that...also the coding isnt a problem, GR has very good coders...the only thing is that to add all the winners and such, would be manual..but the staff can figure that out..i like the idea still

I was thinking this when someone mentioned a SOTW box at the bottom of the forum index. A main Gamerenders homepage would be cool. They could post announcements and news there as well as posting competition winners. I am aware that there is already and news and announcement forum, but many people don't read the topics there, rules included and a main page could remedy that somewhat. I am all for it, but as you said, someone would have to update it daily/weekly/bi-weekly. Plus they would need someone to create a webpage design for them as well as a coder to code it.

Thats a great idea, and i think the splash page is really unneded...id rather have a real...really real homepage for GR...and again i dont think coding is a really big ideal...

Splash page with a third button for site or home would be cool. Coding complexity depends on the complexity of the site as well. Depends on what GR staff/Shaggy would want, if it were to take up this idea.

I don't think GR needs this, if you want to se who has won the sotw etc, just look in the section of it.

Surprisingly I do agree with a Homepage  However, what has to be asked is; are we really a website? I mean GR is just a forum community, there may not be enough to validate a full blown homepage, and News/Announcements are actually more likely to be read on the forum than the homepage (from experience I think that's true).

I just think GR would be wayyyyyyyyy more official than it is if it had a homepage, and ofcourse it would match and everything...it would just be more appealing
