So, I came home and found that my idiot cousin has reset some settings on my computer along with installing QQ that's completely useless to me. The languages on some places such as the time and IE homepage become Chinese MSN (which was formerly English) and fonts here and there were different before (such as firefox, AIM, etc). I tried system restore a few times and they all failed. So I was wondering if anyone knew how I could do it manually.

On the second note, my screen has been going blank (but the computer is still on), sometimes when I have too many windows running and sometimes just at random. What should I make of this? Is a problem with my monitor or computer? Or is it some kind of virus?

    Thanks in advance.

Try opening firefox then go to

    view>encoding>western european(ISO)

maybe that should work for the clock and the firefox chinese words since i think the clock is using the internet to tell time.

.KrYpTiC.: It was on, but thanks.

PhanE: The encoding is on that, I changed it on IE as well and things are still the same. But thanks anyways.

If you have the time, I recommend you format and start over. It will fix all the problems easily and you wont have to waste time downloading antivirus software, etc
