I'm eventually going to buy a lap top all for myself... I'm considering a Mac of some sorts because I hear they are much better for graphics....

    But..here's what I'll be doing w/ it:

    - Installing:

    --- Photoshop CS2
    --- ImageReady CS2
    --- Illustrater (CS2?)
    --- ULead Cool 3D
--- Cinema 4D (and some expansions, maybe)
    --- And a few recording programs/Drum + Bass simulaters

^^That is, when I can afford all those.. which won't be for a LONG time.

On this computer, I will be making/saving several different graphics "projects". I will also probably make this my computer for college where I will hopefully be double majoring in Graphics Design and Photography. But, I am also a musician and a writer. So I'll be saving several poems, songs, etc.And I will also (hopefully) be recording into it with portable recording gear (the guitar stuff). So I'm guessing I'll need space for that?

After all of this is complete, I would LOVE for the computer to still run fast. Excluding the internet, because that's a different story, and I don't feel like talking about ISP's at the moment. :P

Thank you for any help you can give me.

Also, please include prices to any gear you may suggest.

And, is the above even possible? :P

    Peace.

Youll be hard-pressed to find a mainstream PC with a 128MB GFX Card... 256MB is mainstream now (not that the memory matters anyway =])

Yeah, to run all that software, you would need quite a decent computer. 2GB of RAM would help a LOT.

Do you think a MacBook P - R - 0 would do the trick?Does that fit the RAM qualifications and what-not?

I'm no good w/ computer language (RAM, etc.)

Thanks to both of you for helping. :)

MacBooks are quite powerful, just a little expensive. Make sure you buy one with more than 1GB of RAM - its on every specification list; you cant miss it! All processors should be able to handle that. Yeah just make sure you have atleast 1GB of RAM - 2GB would be awesome.

PM me if you need any further help.

    Is this the RAM?

I found the RAM on it.. You select either 2 GB or 4 GB of RAM.. But you have to add $750 for 4GB.. I guess it has a standard 2 GB of RAM.. W/e.. Thanks everbody for the help.. I now know what I'm going to be saving up for later on. :P

That is correct... I just wanted some advice for the future. :P

    Thanks again, all!
