Making My Internet Faster

I play on Xbox live and have verizon DSL.
I was wondering if there was any way to speed up my connection.
Sometimes I lag and stuff and it's annoying.
I tried setting a password so people don't steal my connection but I don't know how to do that either.
Anyone mind helping?

 

If your using wireless to connect to your supplier you should switch to cable.

DSL is not very good i recommend cable.

 

Talk to you ISP, the more you pay, the faster it is.

 

I don't pay.. my parents do. Otherwise I wouldn't be asking.

 

To stop people from using your router you need to set a WEP or WPA key. I suggest WPA since its harder to crack.

Also make sure ur whole family isent on there computers... cuz Xbox live takes alot of Juice.. so if no1 els is on other comps in ur house = faster connection and yea put a WPA Pw
