That Kanji spells Tomasu and TomuTomu respectively. So like I said before, dosn't exactly work, although the names still sound pretty cool

That's actually Katana, not Kanji. Kanji is more complicated than that. Also there's also Hiragana, but we don't use that, because Katana is used for foreign spelling, like our American names. Because Hiragana is used for their Japanese language.

There is no "L" in the Japanese language either. So you have to replace with an "R" so that's why Japanese people have the accent of saying English, Engrish.

Anyways my japanese name is Maikeru = Michael

Haha, of course, silly mistake I should know anyway, we've only been learning about 100 of them at school lol. (Holidays must be making me slack)

(Oh and it's katakana, not sure if you accidentally spelt it as katana)

And yeah with the katakana you'll notice a lot of things sound pretty much the same as they would in english.

Example: Hotdog = Hotodogu
Telly = Telebi
Sports = Supotsu

There's three alphabets in Japanese, Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. Hiragana will mainly have curvy characters, katakana is generally straight lines (with a few exceptions), and Kanji are very complicated some having up to 15 different strokes (which is hard to remember for a test ).

Also when spelling Japanese words in English it's called romaji.

Oh ya and also Romaji would be this: NIHONGO. Its their japanese words spelt with our Roman letters, thats why its called Romaji. Katakana is their way of spelling our words with their style.
