depends on each one case by case. assuming you're getting the x2 3600 @1.8GHz with 2*512mb l2 cache, I'd again say that the x2 3600 is marginally faster, though not by much.
Graphics = AMD rocks. Intel looks a little to light to handle heavy graphics, well atleast I have that kind of logic in my mind.
personally i like Intel processors better. Theyre also easier to understand as theyre the current industry standard, so you can easily tell if your processor will be able to run the software or program that you want to ive got an intel processor (Core 2 Duo) and couldnt be happier ^^ the games love the processor too and it does handle heavy graphics and intense gaming, ive got a 256MB nVidia graphics card hooked up to it and it screams Also dont overclock ur processor unless ur motherboard has the headroom to allow you to do so ... or you can risk overheating ur system and cause it to crash etc.
which industry? for the last 3-4 years AMD owned the server sector and they were the crown of gaming graphics and general office productivity.
You would be crazy not to go with the intel E2140. I am an experienced overclocker and system builder so please heed my advice. Even w/out overclocking, the E2140 pulls ahead.
not everyone is an OCer and some want it for use in low demand areas (HTPC ) the athlon has a definitive advantage due to lower platform draw. but yes if you know how to draw a litttle line on the botto of the CPU with a pencil or a cunductive pen then you should be able to do wonders with that CPU.
Hmm!! That is why my brother told me that he is going to send me some awesomeness AMD motherboard which is 3.44 GHz.. With 2GB Ram and 1 GB nVidia Graphics Card and 180 GB Hard drive.

Yes, only the higher models will get cheaper, I think. I'd say it depends on where you will use it for, but if I had to chose I'd go for the E2160.
I helped my friends E2140 get to 3.0Ghz STABLE. (from 1.6). *Overvolted CPU +.1875V *Overvolted RAM +.3V *Overvolted FSB +.1V Its a great chip to have.
doesn't take much effort. I want to say that I can get 3.4Ghz stock volts out of my CPU and in most real world apps the FSB boost gives me around x6800 performance at only 2.85GHz or so. I'll let you know what I'm getting in a month or two when I have a good h20 loop and volt mod my board(975X loves volts like mad)
