Say I take a picture off of google and use it in a sig of my own....and somebody owns copyrights or "all rights reserved" to that image... Is that considered breaking any lwas like copyright infringement or whatever? All help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
yea what cadam said, i think allot of people dont care though because if its only a sig.. no one is going to mind unless you are making money from it... I still wouldnt do it without permission though but allot of people just take whatever they want lol
your not going to get in trouble but i dont think the owner will appreciate it but i have advice dont use images from sites that are in contact with this site i have a program called digimarc to copyright my images so nobody but me can edit
Thank you everybody. Also, @Cadam95: How do you get Digimarc? Is it expensive? Because I take a ton of pictures that I'd like to do that to.
CS2 has a plug in for it (not sure if it's the full thing), but go Filter>Digimarc>Embed Watermark / Read Watermark.
Well Google is just a search engine .. it displays every image possible including the 3D models , CG artists & paintings etc These kind of images cant be used without permission since they are the property of the artist - For example if someone owns a house ... you cannot go and start painting their house in a different colour unless they want it painted I suggest you stay away from CG images from CGNetworks/DA or Art which is painted [Fan art] or 3D modelled images However gaming/movie images do have copyright on them but they are more lenient in a way This subject is complex .. lol - Everyone is breaking copyright laws when they cut or use an image but you have to judge the image DARKSTAR
There are different kinds of copyrights for example there is this one site which makes anime wallpapers and the copyright says that "Personal use allowed" or something like that. So you can't use them to make money but you can use them for your personal usage.
You wouldn't be talking about selling a program you don't own? and if it's freeware it isn't exactly fair to charge someone for it.
You're the CEO / Owner of the company (or person) that made the program? You do not have rights to resell / redistribute a program you did not make. And the program seems to be freeware, or at least a version of it.
