Crysis is going to be one of the best games of 2007 besides Halo 3 if you haven't seen anything about it or haven't heard of it check out this link the pictures are from in game. http://www.crysis-online.com/Media/Screens...hots-ingame.php
Ya, im just waiting for it to say how good of a pc you have to have... Supposedly it isn't supposed to take up as much of your pc as people thing but don't kno.
I've been waiting for Crysis for ages...it looks insane. As for PC requirements, the way the engine is setup is supposed to allow people on a very wide variety of machines to run the game. Still, you'd really want a DX10 Video Card for new effects ect.
[/quote] let me rephrase what I said the consoles aren't powerful enough unless they downgrade the texture quality and the spend tens of thousands of ADDITIONAL hours coding because coding for both Xenon and Cell is a bitch, sure Xenon and Cell might have 5-10 the theoretical output of a highend PC's CPU, but with current programming, it's only about 1/4th as fast as that highend end PC's CPU. and yeh, they're lacking in the RAM department. PSe has 256mb system RAM and 256mb video RAM, both on a 128 bit busses to put this into perspective, my system has 4096mb RAM on a 128bit bus(albeit my system RAM is a bit slower though it's of lower latency too) and 640mb vRAM on a 384bit bus at a higher frequency and lower latency. and then the GPU RSX designed by nVidia and based off of a GeForce 7800GTX but on a more advanced manufacturing process(90nm) and acheiving higher clocks. It falls just short of the performance of a 7900GTX G80 - nVidia's next gen GPU, on a very advanced 80nm process and it can in some extreme cases outperform FOUR 7900s(Quad SLi vs. 8800GTX). Guess what GPU I have in my system...
Either way, pcs will always be the elite compared to consoles not to mention pc comes out with something better every 6 months.
