Maximum word limit in a post?

I just tried making a topic where in one post I had a load of text and quotes, and when I posted half was missing and all the quotes didnt work. The only thing I can think of is that I exceeded the maximum word limit or something (I know this effects quotes too as I've seen it happen as a Mod on other forums) so could someone confirm this is the problem and can I ask what the max limit is...

Shorter version. And yeah, I couldn't believe I'd broken the limit too, but as I've said I've seen this happen before as a Mod on another forum (although then it was a 12page topic I'd condensed into a post of quotes, and even then most was there...) and yeah I've double checked my

 

You should get a "Bored Message" if you have exeded the limit? Copy and past it into a word counter and tell us how many words there are.

 

Hmm, including all the code, 721 words comprised of 6,762 (including around 600 spaces) characters. I guess I had written a lot... :S

I think part of the problem is the size of my image links, could anyone think of a way to shrink them (like TinyURL but for PB links...)

There is a word limit. On a forum where I go to get help with my computer, they have me post logs. I once tried to post 3 logs in a post and it cut off most of the 3rd log. They also use IPB.

And when this did happen, I didnt get any messages saying I exceeded the limit. Just for future reference

 

When you go over about 8 quotes, it stops the quoting included in the post.

 

It stops the TAGS required for quoting, it will show up, just not as aregular code, you will see the BBCode.

As for character length, I believe its set to 5,000 characters default by IPB.
