if you have 1k things starting at once, you'll have 1k additional processes. ALl I was getting at.

ehh, i guess all my OS installs are relatively clean and uncluttered. which is weird when one considers the sheer lack of antivirus and antispy/adware I run.

    I have vista.

Its nice, but its more for convience and doesn't offer anything really new. They're are still alot of bugs. The basic version of Vista is pointless, you don't even get the new look.

Honestly I have had vista for about 3 or 4 months now and I am getting used to the new features, and programs

I know that there isn't much out there for Vista currently but there will be, it is a new OS and you all have to give it time to get up and running.

Same thing happened when XP got released, we all had to give time to get used to it and fix all of the bugs and fixes, and as of now we all love XP to be the best OS out there...I think!

But yeah, there is no problem in Vista, just that you get a small variety of programs but in the future Vista will get better :)

I would stick with XP but I have two computers one running XP Home (upgrading to --- today) and my laptop running Vista Premium Edition and it is ok :)

    So choose :)

I'm loving it, I love the new aero GUI, and I like the way explorer is organized. But the thing that really amazed me was how easy it was to setup. After the install the first time I logged in it had nvidia drivers installed, Aero running, and it was in the correct reolution (1440x900) which is really a refreshing experiance, especially after setting up linux and XP. The only thing I had to install was sound drivers which I was able to do via MS update (Which also update nvidia drivers). Aero runs silky smooth and I'm liking vista so far. It doesn't take as long to boot as I've heard (and I havn't even installed it on my main SATA drive yet, which still has XP)I'm just having some framerate issues with counterstrike. I like it better than XP although it won't be replacing it until I can get my framerate issues sorted.
