    im 17, and i have a friend who is 16. rated-R movies are only allowed for 17+ people, or if you have an adult. but ive heard a rumor that a 17+year-old is allowed to bring in 1 person under 17. is this true?

    thanks

    and i know i could go and buy 2 tickets and give one to him, but id rather see if theres an easier way first.

    No, I'm pretty sure it's not allowed.

    The person who is underaged must be accompanied by someone who is over the age of 21 (a.k.a. an adult)

    You could always buy your friend a ticket anyway, just point to a random guy an say you're going with him

    Depends on where you go. If you look older than 17, you shouldn't have any problems. Some theaters let people who are 17 in, some theaters don't. Just my advice - don't buy your tickets early in case they don't let you in.

    I got in with my sister to see Saw II when I was 15. She was 18. So I guess it's how slacky the people watching you are.

    Just go up to the booth with your friend and say 2 tickets for whatever movie. In the case that they do actually card you, just give yours and it should be fine. Normally they do not need both people to show ID. I used to work at a theater, but im pretty laid back. I let anyone into any movie as did most of my co-workers.

    Well where I live this is how our ratings go.

    PG = Parental Guidance Suggested

    PG-13 = Parental Guidance Suggested, must be older than 13 to get in? Unless accompanied by an adult?

    14A = You must be 14 years or older UNLESS accompanied by an adult. Where I live you become a legal adult at the age of 18. So you must be accompanied by someone 18+ if you are under 14.

    18A ® = 18 or older unless accompanied by an adult.

    I would think yours probably follows the same rule. I don't know the legal age you become an adult where you live. But I tihnk if you go with your friend, and for some reason they ask for your ID. Show yours but get your friend to say he forgot his. They usually will not care.

    theres one way to beat the system. lol for my 16 bday me and my freinds there were like 5 of us went to go see the hills have eyes, and since me and my other friend looked 19 he let us all in. it all depends on the people working. and if worst comes to worst. you become a crazy mofo ninja and you start walking on the ceiling and throwing ninja stars at ppl :eek:
