So I'm a smart kid, right? Top of my class, etc., etc. That means I take Advanced Placement (AP) classes which super hard, to prepare for the AP tests, which are super harder. I'm taking AP Chemistry and History this year, and both of those teachers are crazy and want my classes to go to freaking summer school to get a jumpstart! I'm so pissed. Summer school because I'm smart? BS. What do you guys think about summer school? Does it really help the kids who failed a bunch of classes during the year or are these kids just unmotivated? I think it's the latter.
In my school district, they wont let you go to summer school unless you have an F, so I wouldnt have to worry bout it. Im an all A's and B's student anyways, but my AP teachers cant force us to go to summer school, unless they themself payed for us to do it a community college.
2 days a week, 6 weeks for me. It's a special advanced course, college level semesters jampacked, blah blah. I get honor roll anyway It' pretty fun for me though, taking german (starts tomorrow) classes for 3 hours. Piece of cake.
Summer school is usually a month where I live, but since I get out of regular school in May, then it isn't too bad, I'll still have 2 months afterwards.
As you say, you are smart and top of your classes. If you know you can handle the workload, then don't take it. But if YOU think you need a jumpstart, then take it. It is all about how much trouble you beleive it will be. I myself would not take the same class twice, that would just make the class during the year, boring as heck. When you are bored in a class, it tends to drop your grades.
