hiya just wondering cause i was bored if any of you think there is a meaning of life i dont really think there is i just think we create our own purpose but please post your veiws here
The purpose of life is whatever u make it...i mean u choose how to live your life so obviously u choose ur purpose...
I believe that all living things, mostly, feel the need to have their genes carried on to the next generation. The meaning of life to me, is to struggle to try and leave your mark on this world and survive. By having offspring, this ensures that you have atleast given the next generation hope to either pickup from where you left off; or do better than what you could.
Well, you guys are quite articulate. I especially liked the guy who said that the purpose of life is to die. And of course, who can forget hiring the stork? This question has come up countless times in the course of history, and there have been many interpretations. During the Middle Ages, when religion was a cornerstone of civilization, the purpose of life was to live well and do good, thereby ensuring a place in Heaven. Later, during the Renaissance, when science and philosophy started to take form, the purpose of life was to make the most out of it. This way, people could extend their lives, and maybe even become immortal, through their mortal life's work. Good examples of this would be Shakespeare, Newton, and Da Vinci. My belief on life is simple. There are two main goals in life, and people always choose one, or the other. You can choose to have a good life, or you can choose to have a long life. People who choose a good life are the ones that pursue business and law, because those jobs offer the greatest amount of success and wealth. Good examples of this would be Bill Gates and Donald Trump. People who want a long life choose sciences and arts, for those offer the chance at immortality, through scientific breakthroughs and legendary works of art. Examples of this would be Watson and Crick. Everyone has their own view of life, but in my [relatively short] experience, I have seen that all views tie back to one of these two. The moral of the story? Life your life the way you want. After all, the only things we really have control over are what we choose to do.
