Hey Guys Since I just graduated and got some money from my parents ... I decided to upgrade my brother's computer I have 100bucks for a Graphics Card and 50 or so for a PSU Unit... So I was wondering which would be the best graphics card that I can install on my brother's computer ... It is a Dell Dimension 8200 1.8Ghz 512 RAM 80GB at 7200 RPM and has only a CD Writer/Reader 240Watt PSU So which is the best Graphics Card that will play the new games that just came out like Carbon and etc etc and the ones that will be coming out in a year or so.... With a good PSU also I was looking forward to installing a DVD Drive into that computer and it would be helpful if you can tell me what DVD Drive to get to install in that computer... Thanks -Zain
Does it have PCI Epress? I would believe it would just have AGP. WEll one thing you might have to consider is updating that small power supply. I would at least recommend a 400 Watt for the newer cards.
the 7900GS is fairly good, costs as little as $110 if you can get a good deal. the x1900s/x1950s are a bit better though. not a ton though. as for what's really good, I heard(and verified) that the 8800s are really good. Basically the best cards out there.
Xelink I get the PCI Card that You have showed me Read the specifications and it needs atleast 420W PSU ... Do i still need to upgrade to one or no? cuz i only got 240 atm...
I found this deal on Newegg. You might want to wait for someone to read over the specs again just incase they see something wrong. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817709011 Really cheap but its also not the best.
heres one better than the sunbeam: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817189005 I definitely recommend this one.
Hm...this will fit Dell Dimension 8200 right? Sorry for asking as I have never done this before....Only got Premade systems before
that card can't use that much more power and their ratings are BS I'm running an 8800GTS(which uses around 5 times the power of an x1500) seamlessly on a "400W" PSU. every other part in my system is overclocked as well. Merged Post: would likely be less stable than his current PSU. my recommendation given a low budget http://www.jonnyguru.com/review_details.php?id=24 http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=PS-E5140GH or if you want to spend a little more http://www.jonnyguru.com/review_details.ph...=23(silverstone uses the same unit, they contracted it form enhance) http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=PS-E5150GH
