Errr, don't you need either an nVidia chipset or an ATI chipset to choose a video card? Hence if he has a motherboard with nVidia chips, the R650XT won't work with it. If he has a motherboard with ATI chips, the 7600GT won't work with it. If I am wrong, correct me?
You'r wrong. It will work as long as it's PCI x16. Doesn't matter if the motherboard has a nVidia chipset or ATI chipset.
no, that would result in greatly reduced market share for those manufacturers AND a lot of antitrust laws. so basically it would be stupid or else illegal. unelss you mean a chipset as in a collection of units within a GPU. Then yes, a chipset is part of every graphics card in that sense. As for the build, looks great. Nice clean and well balanced.
