Nevermore, old Metallica, Maiden, Megadeath, Soilwork, and Dark Tranquillity are the best.

    First off, Soundgarden is Grunge.

Second, St. Anger is the worst CD that has come out of Metallica since...ever.

Third, how can you name those bands Exo and not even mention Slayer?

Whoah whoah whoah. Soundgarden is not Grunge. You don't seem to understand how that label "grunge" went around, eh? Soundgarden got tacked onto Grunge the label. They never actually sounded like Grunge at all. Listen to Room a Thousand Years Wide, Slaves & Bulldozers, Jesus Christ Pose, Outshined, and Face Pollution. That should be enough to show you that they just got tacked onto the label grunge. Badmotorfinger was heavier than both Ten and Nevermind combined.

I know my grunge, and I know my Soundgarden. :P Soundgarden was probably the least grunge out of Seattle's big four. They were just from Seattle, so they were labeled Grunge.

Goddamn, listen to the music first.

They were LABELED grunge. So was so many other bands who had no idea what Grunge was, they were just labeled as such. So, you just come out of no where and say Grunge sucks without even listening? The little bit you have listened to somehow judges all other bands?

That's another problem I have with music today. "Oh rap sucks" "Oh grunge sucks" "oh rock sucks" "Oh metal sucks". Shut the hell up. You listen to one band, or a few songs, and you assume all of it sounds exactly alike? Don't even talk if you think that. You assume an entire genre sounds just like one band. :|

Badmotorfinger was a heavy ass album, and incredibly underrated, especially since most people think because one or two bands suck, anything else labeled as those 2 bands were are trash.

Soundgarden isnt grunge man. I have to agree with bluefalcon on this one, they just got labeled that because they came out of Seattle around the same time as actual grunge bands.

well i liked it. it was differn't to there normal style so thats why alot of older Metallica fans don't like it. I'd say that it is more Bob Rock's fault that you don't like it more than James,Lars,Kirk and Rob's fault. An extremly poor bit of producing by him. for example "Invisible Kid" just drags on for too long. it would have been soo much better if he kept it to only about 4 - 6 mins. im glad they got rid of him.

So, because it was heavy it automatically becomes not Grunge? THEY'RE GRUNGE. Ask Chris Cornell your own damn self and he'll even agree. They may have been a heavier style but they were grunge. Can you define what grunge music is, and then not describe Soundgarden as the very close to it?

Actually Chris Cornell was interviewed once and he didn't even see how he it was grunge, and he can just BARELY see how it was grunge today. I've listened to hundreds of Cornell interviews, too. ;)

    And yes, I can.

    - Grunge had very dirty guitar playing. (see Mudhoney's Suck you Dry)
    - Soundgarden had cleaner riffs, heavier riffs.
    - Grunge has a sound that was more PUNK influenced.
    - Soundgarden's sound was more METAL influenced.
    - Listen to Cobain and then listen to Cornell. ;)
    - Listen to Badmotorfinger. It isn't even grunge.

    Should be enough.

    >_<

Some; KMFDM is a favorite of mine.

And, whatever, I'm arguing with a person who cares too much about labels. Who gives a damn what they're called. "OMG ITS NOT BLACKDEATHROCK ITS SPEEDGRUNGECORE"
