Its first movies of course.. example terminator 1 was FAR more scarier then the rest... spiderman 1, it was more exciting... matrix 1, was like, my favorite movie because of all the action.. its always the first because the story in the sequals arent as interesting as the first.. because its based on pretty much the same, except for some minor details.. so since we already saw it, its not as fun watching unlike when its a whole new fresh idea
idk i didnt vote cause it really depends on the series of movies... like some movies that have come out have sequels that are better because of the fact that technology has advanced since the first one was made (terminatior series is one). but its well known that sequels dont always do as good the originals.
Not found a series yet where the sequels are better. EVERY Disney film the original is far better. Jurassic Park Terminator Back to the Future (May be an exception) Etc. etc. etc.
The First is usually the best, because they are usually more refreshing... the sequels you've already seen a bit of it...
I do not know what some of you are talking about. Terminator 2 was just as good as the first one, the 3rd sucked, but 2 was awesome, just as scary as well. I think some of the time first movies are the best, mainly in the newer films, but other times the second or third additions are the best. The Return of the Jedi for example. Or the Godfather Part II and III. Or Indiana Jone's 3rd movie, or 2nd. In newer movies such as The Matrix, and Spiderman, and so on, the reason the newest installments are so terrible is because The Matrix 1 and Spiderman 1 were blockbuster movies. The 2nd movies made incredibly huge amounts of money, as did the 3rd's. Though I must say, they put quite alot of work into Matrix Revoultions, especially the freeway chase. I think other, because when most movies were made for entertainment, rather than money the sequels and prequels were just as good. But since 2000, many movies have gone downhill, and are mostly made for the money.
I tend to think that for the majority of movies, the original is better. By the time you get to the 2nd or 3rd movie, a lot of the drama/comedy/action is forced, trying to fit too much to the original mold. Sometimes it seems like they run out of material too so they reuse old stuff. One thing that comes to mind for me is the Rush Hour series. Don't get me wrong, I love the first two movies, but they've been re-using some of the same lines/catch phrases (and from trailers for the 3rd, they're reusing lines again) and it's gotten stale and not funny now. Granted this isn't the case for all movies, but for the majority of movies with sequels that I've seen, it has happened.
Its different, with lord off the rings i liked part 3 the most and 1 was kinda boring spiderman havent seen part 3 yet but 1 was great matrix part 1 was cool cant remember the other ones anymore but 2 was boring Saw I II III all the 3 movies were super
Saw's another good example, I'm yet to see Three but two was CRAP compared to One. I mean really really crap. Not sure why everyone is saying Terminator 2 was scary etc. etc...since when was Terminator a horror? ^^
Usually the first, because it's original! But if they have a way to keep it fresh the sequel sometimes can be as good as the first
