Windows media player isn't working

    Whenever I try to open a video it says an internal error has occured. Can anyone help?

    Restart your computer or try to re-install it.

    I had this error a long time ago, dont know if its the same as my problem but it was a remnents of a virus, follow my instructions in this thread and tell me if it works. :)

    What kind of file is it? avi, mpeg. wmv?
    Do you have the right codecs?

    I get internal errors sometimes as well not sure why - Just something wrong with WMP :) ive cut down on using WMP for playing movies so i just use winamp or VLC player
