when i log on into hotmail.com it logs in but when i got to msn messenger i type my pass and everything it connects then out of no reason it stops connecting i think its that i put this code in my secondary name is there anyway i can get in there and change it so i can get back into my messenger? and when i use windows messenger it works fine just on windows live messenger it doesnt..
that usually happens because it cant connect to the msn network, have you forwarded the correct ports?
no thats not it do you know the second display name on the msn messenger thats where i pasted the code and its not a connection problem it works on every different computer just on this one it doesnt and it also works on windows messenger on this computer just on windows live messenger it doesnt work
well try uninstalling WLM then reinstalling, possibly corrupted files are preventing it accessing the network

This is caused by a bug in the personal message system of Windows Live Messenger. Windows Live Messenger checks your personal message before every sign-in, but when you place a unreadable character string in this, Windows Live Messenger will fail to login, leaving you stuck. This is a good trick to play on a mate. Lucky for you my friend i can fix it. On XP: Sign out of Messenger. Click Start, then Run, type: %userprofile%\local settings\application data\microsoft\windows live contacts and click OK. Right-click the e-mail folder corresponding to your email, and choose Delete. Then sign back into Messenger. On Vista: Sign out of Messenger. Click Start, type: %appdata%\..local\application data\microsoft\windows live contacts and click OK. Right-click the e-mail folder corresponding to your email, and choose Delete. Then sign back into Messenger.
