My computer begame slow and unresponsible

    I was guiding him through it in IRC earier, the windows default defragger is no where near sufficient for most people, having to leave the pc for hours on end, diskeeper is much better.

    Defragmenter will probably not fix problems with your programs crashing.

    You can always reformat, it makes the computer run like new.

    to get to safe mode, i usually turn the pc off when it loads windows and turn it back on, that way it asks me.. yes i know theres the f12, f11, or whatever key to do it.. i like my way better

    you won't damage anything. system might crash but ti will come back just as strong when you reboot.

    Backup and reformat, tried that?

    No I won't reformat. The backup hardrive doesn't havfe anything in it and I cannot let it delete some important things

    Read the 'backup' part, genius? It's called a burner, learn to use one. You're just best off doing as much.

    it crashes on startup, if you sortout the startup that should fix teh crashing, the defragging will fix the slowness

    On etime, IT DIDN'T CRASH ON A STARTUP YAY! . I downloaded diskeeper thing, the best version pfft. it's now running, i can only keep my thumbs up.

    Get a disc of all the neccesary files you need and reformat. Easiest thing you can do.

    It could possibly be a power supply problem if you reformat and it doesn't fix it. My spare/second computer kept crashing on startup and I reformatted turned out my power supply was stuffed.

    maybe overheating? or some process stucks up the thing. better send it to a technician. or back to HP with ur warrenty
