How are those specs for a laptop < 1000 bucks? :). I don't need an operating system with it, I have XP --- at home already. I think thats a pretty leet deal for Photoshop, school, music, and lite gaming. Waht about you guys?

its good for 1000. define lite gaming? i doubt it will run a game with more than 15 fps but for photoshop and music and other school related things should be good. if you need it to last for more than a year, i suggest buying some more ram later on. also the hard drive could be bigger but if your low on money now, you can always upgrade later. last thing, if you can, stay away from laptops unless ur ganna need to take it with you

Lite gaming as in CS:S frequently, HL2 once in a while, and Ragnarok Online a bit.

I already plan on getting another 1 gig stick of RAM afterwords, and I can get an external hard drive enclosure to put my broken computer's HD into.

I really do want a laptop so that I can take it to FGL Club meetings on Fridays at my school to play tournaments against other kids there.

You're better off at Dell, their laptops are great, no fanboyism, just facts. You'll get 2gb, a half decent video card, and a C2D for about the same price.

only go with dell notebooks if your planing on spending more than 1,500

i suggest Xplorer X5-5900 Notebook.. if you custimize it to your needs, it deffinetly be below 1,050.. choose a 2.0ghz processor and everything else that you want.
