Decoded to make a thread for book suggestions because there's already a thread for books people are currently reading. Also a thread to talk about books you liked..Please don't give the endings away.

    My short list:

Dreamcather by Stephen King: Great book..I'm about 80% done with it..But it's still an awesome book. Age level: 18+ I guess....no real "sex" in it but TONS of profane language.

The Long Walk by Stephen King: Awesome book. Lots of nasty gorey scenes and very well written. It is about a bunch of boys that are forced to do a very "long" walk and there are certain rules that must be followed...or bad things happen to them. ;) Age level: 18+ Profane Language and some sexual/sexually graphic content.. And gore.

The Killing Hour by Lisa Gardner: Probably one of the best books I have ever read. It is very graphic, and uses profane language. Might be the only book that i actually WANTED to keep reading. Age level: 18+ Very graphic in terms of language and gore..I do not recall whether or not there is sexual content.

As you can see, I enjoy graphic novels.
Though i am a slightly slow reader..I read at a high level.

Mods may close if those books are too innappropriate.. But I don't see any problems with it...

I like books, but I need one that'll keep me reading it. Most of the time if a book isn't gripping enough, then I just put it down.

I'm looking for a modern warfare type book. Tom Clancy type, I like the look of Rainbow Six, just something for reading on the place to go on holiday and read when I'm there. Anyone got any suggestions?

I enjoyed Band of Brothers quite a bit. It really did make me interested. Having watched the TV series first, I half knew what to expect but I went ahead and it was a good read. At the moment I'm reading Electric Universe by David Bodanis.

If you want an interesting, thought-provoking novel, try:

    Thr3e - Ted Dekker

I liked it. His other novels are quite good too, but that's been my favorite so far.

If you like mystery and suspense, read the one I suggested. There's also been a movie made of it.

I prefer fantasy, so some of my favorites are:

    The Lord of the Rings
    The Hobbit
    Harry Potter
    Wheel of Time
    Mastermagician***
    UnMage***

    *** = Dutch

I'm a pretty fast reader but I haven't had much time to read lately

Deception Point by Dan Brown is a mild conspirancy, sci-fi, political thriller. Worth the buy.

The Killling Hour is basically a suspense/thriller.. It is very gorey book.. But it is a good read if you are into the pretty nasty things. :P

    Storyline (in a vague description):

2 detectives are searching for a killer/kidnapper that just kidnapped a pregnant woman and they are trying to find her. They do not know whether or not she is dead or not. This, in my opinnion, is a great book. But pretty grusome.

^^ That may make it seem boring.. But the book is obviously much more elaborate. :P

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, this is a little off topic: But, has anybody here read the Dave Pelzer series? Now those books are bad... Meaning: they are very sad.

For those of you who do not know: They are the story of a boy who goes through child abuse. I guess it was one of the worst cases in California history?? (I'm not sure. Please correct me if I'm wrong). It's a very inspiring story, I guess. But it is VERY sad.

I really have a broad range of what I love. I just love reading a good story. I've finished/very close to finishing two books. A good book I suggest is:

Dean Koontz - Lightning ~ absolutely fantastic...wow...I'm still amazed.

Douglas Adams - The Hitchhiker's Guide ~ I got a book compilation called THE ULTIMATE GUIDE, with the entire series in it. Get it. It's hilarious, it's dark and then colorful, it's just...wow...amazing. It can influence your life heavily. :D

I have about 4 more novels down the line to read. :)
