http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1991540,00.asp This dell ultrasharp seems like a great monitor. I will be using it for movies,blu-ray movies,xbox360,tv,computer,and for pc gaming.(it will be placed in my room) I was wondering since the native resolution is 1920X1200 would a single nvidia 8800 GTX have trouble running a game like Crysis on Medium to High settings on that resolution?
vhances are it wouldn't since i'm hearing most fo the demos are run on a single 8800@ 1080p but not entirely sure and the game isn't even out. as for the monitor, high quality sIPS panel if you're lucky, So-so MVA if you're unluck(google "Dell lottery")
no it wouldn't and yes, that monitor is good. been looking at buying the 30 inch upgraded version myself = ) everyone loves that thing. check out the top 100 products of the year in July's PC World. I think it is number 27.
umm i would think the grfx card should run it piss, umm dont know much about monitors but looks nice so yeah i dont see y not
PC world is aimed primarily and the computer illiterate who are incapable of their own research. It's not as bad as PC magazine but it's somewhat close. I don't know where I read it but I looked around a bit when getting my own monitor. Again w/ monitors the thing to check is the actual LCD panel used. Most OEMs use the same panels, but which type panel matters. EG: TN panels tend to be crud(I've found this out first hand) while SIPS and a few others are allright.
alright, ill try my luck with one ...but if worse comes to worse ill buy another one in the future.. thanks everyone!! Dharmesha13
The monitor is great. Recommended highly. Yes a 8800GTX should be able to run them on high. Just make sure you have a good CPU and plenty of RAM.
The monitor is awesome - I use it for my university multimedia computing degree & since i love it i am planning on buying one for myself And yes dont get it from PCWorld as xelink said - Get it from a online site since they are generally cheaper than retailers DARKSTAR
ah i see - In UK theres a ----ty retailer called PC World and thought you were referring to that even though i know about the magazine as well heh DARKSTAR
