Deicide is pretty awesome. Scars Of The Crucifix is one of their greatest songs.also any Cradle of Filth and Murderdolls fans?

Most of them are on the extreme (death metal/hardcore mix) side.

Plus, wtf, I forgot Iron Maiden and Judas Priest :( DURRRR.

    Excuse me??

I guess you were talking about the me being a Satinist thing.. If so, it's only because I get it sometimes from people..And it gets kinda old...

Either way...I guess most people here dig the 80's/70's Metal....

    As for them:

    Metallica
    Megadeth
    Black Sabbath
    Iron Maiden
    Judas Priest (Some)
    Ozzy
    Van Halen
    AC/DC (Some)

That's probably because half of them are either horrible or (in the case of most newer bands I listen to) are just out of high school and no one takes them serious.

i'd rather put a bullet in my head than listen to COF and Murderdolls. Dani Filth sux and singing is like listening to a baby crying.

Agreed. The way I see it, you have to know who the originators are and listen to them, not just all these new kids that are wannabies of the starters of it all...

When it comes down to it, most of the newer Metal bands are at least some-what influenced by Metallica, Megadeth, Van Halen, etc in some way or another....

Yeah true dat. :P To be honest, I dont like really any of todays metal, besides like the old bands that are still making music, because they still stick to their older style.

TBH the new stuff is actually pretty good. It's a new style that's very intriguing, even if it's made by high schoolers who want to get all those scene people to listen to their ---- cuz they listen to (older) Job For A Cowboy.

Its not intriguing at all in my opinion. Their vocals suck, they cant play a decent solo to save their lifes, and they just dont got the look or sound of the classic metal bands.

Who said you need to play solos that well? They're not meant to be like classic bands, it's meant to be a whole new style. Well, maybe they think of Dying Fetus, but a lot of the vocals are along the lines of Corpse or other brutal death.
