I have a Dell Dimension 3000 with a freshly bought COMBO drive, I checked the jumper settings, IDE ports, as well as their placements by following the manual.

Yet still, it does not read DVD-R or DVD+R discs.

I tried dvds that already have content on them and they work.

I'm trying to burn vcds onto dvds as a request from my family is the reason why I'm asking this.

    ~Thanks in advance
