You deserve to go die in a cold fire for even thinking that Guildwars and Runescape are in the least bit similar...

Well... you have a character in both of them. I want to know if I should get any of the campaigns or wait till 2009 or whatever for GW2.

I played prophetie and faction (first and second games) but a bit late.
The problem is that if you are new and want to go play PVP you will totaly sux and no one will want you in their teams since you are new(i'm talking about hoh).
    Maybe it changed with nightfall.
But the story mode is realy cool and worth your money.

I stoped, and won't buy the 4th game, but maybe i will buy GR2 if it's a new game, i mean everyone start from the start so guys who played GR1, faction nightfall are not stronger than someone who has just started playing GR2.

You can transfer unique items from GW1 to 2 if you get EoTN and put them in the Hall of Monuments, but that's about it.

The PvP is skill based, rather then someone being a higher level and having pwoerful equipment dominating the field. HoH is the higher end of PvP so if you're new I would recommend you start in Random Arenas or Team Arenas. Also, they have nice little tutorials on things like interupting and AoE now to make it easier for new players.
