    It might be cheaper, but crossfire scales much better then SLi.... I'm not really 100% sure but I think dual x2900XT's will be doing better then dual 8800GTS 640MB SLi.. I know they are noisy, but if he can spend $1000 on a CPU, then why would't he buy a watercooling set? I already saw some pretty nice full covered GPU blocks for the x2900xt.

    why not just apply that water cooling to cooling the 8800s better?

    I mean the 8800GTSes do have a bit of headroom to them... probably about as mucha s the 2900s do. But they scale better under AA.

    also there is the matter of the 2900s actually costing MORE.

    basically the cost issue is what draws me away from the 2900s. If they were 30% less expensive I'd be evenly spit
